Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
 since August 2006

Whoopee its friday and the weekend is here! Does that matter? Yes it does for us retired people. That means that all the rest of the world will be off work this afternoon for 2 days. There will be weekend campers, weekend drivers, weekend shoppers, and weekend parties. So we get our shopping and driving done before the hordes hit the roads, then we only go out for emergency situations.

So this morning we went to Blythe California early in the morning to Julie's Books a well organized book exchange. A friendly Julie, fresh coffee and a great selection of books.

Once Suzie had performed the exchange and got another bag of adventures for us, she noticed a chop shop next door, so a quick trim of her hair was in order.

Then travel a couple more blocks of main st. to Check out a few interesting stores looking for stuff to buy that we don't need.  We didn't buy anything but had fun checking out some of the local shops.

Well after this nice adventure back home to enjoy the hot sunny day, with some of our books. Relax in the shade for a bit then time to use up the second half of our jar beef-in-a-jar. The meat is already cooked and tender in the canning process and I want to experiment so I saute some onions, garlic, add tomato sauce, spices and the beef. Simmer for a few minutes, thicken it, then add the sour cream and serve over a bed of egg noodles. There ya go quick and easy beef stroganoff with a side salad for supper.

After supper tonight at the clubhouse we have Karaoke from 7-10 pm so we packed our cooler and walked to the hall. This is always fun and entertaining with many people up on the stage (not us) singing lots of great songs. Some of the singers were great and some not so great, but we had a good time, chatted with a few people, and even danced to a few tunes as well. Its been a while since we have had the opportunity to do this, it was a lot of fun! Looking forward to the dance here saturday night. Lets see if we can do this two nights in a row.
