Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
 since August 2006

Well like we said yesterday, think we will stay here for another week. So glad we did, another day of rains (almost a week now) and even here, some flooded roads. Just about a mile from our resort on Dillon Road,  the  mud had made its appearance running rapidly across the road threatening to trap some vehicles.  I stopped at this spot below and took some pictures not wanting to go thru the mud. Apparently further down the road there was more mud slides and vehicles stranded. Even signs for a few  roads closed.

more overcast skies
So today mostly walkabouts between the rain showers and overcast skies. Now that we are puttering about and in the Christmas mood, its a good day to make our fluffy, melt in your mouth, shortbread cookies for our selves and to take to the potluck dinner on Christmas day. Made over three dozen.

For about 30 minutes in the afternoon, the sun was shining, then away it went again only to rain some more. While it was nice I did another bit of a tour around the resort and took some pictures of the upper pool, hot tub and even Julie's pet park, a fenced in grassed area with a gazebo for shade and chairs for the dog owners to sit while their pets can play unleashed. Then back home to compute and read some more before whipping up a hot chicken sandwich with creamy mashed potatoes and cauliflower for supper. Then read a bit more and some Christmas specials on tv.

Here is a few more pictures that I took today

  1. Sorry about the weather....now shortbread cookies----yum!!! It's been so long since we had some homemade ones! Just gotta love being able to snuggle up on a cool day inside with some xmas music playing, the lights turned out...a favorite time of year. Enjoy Christmas Eve.
