Wed. Sept 21st, Changing weather

Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
 since August 2006

This morning began with overcast cool and drizzly, a big change from yesterday. But by noon it had cleared up a bit, sun shining and did get quite nice for the afternoon. The wood carving guys were here for a while and began working on the large tree stumps by the office. It was interesting to see him assessing the wood and where to proceed from there.

I don't think we will see the finished product this year as we are leaving here sunday morning, hopefully next summer. Below is a few bears that he carved  by the resort entrance earlier this summer.
nice bears
For the afternoon we were able to read in the sun and shade, very nice out. I even trimmed my hair and beard with Suzie's help, have to clean up once in a while. About 3:30 a friend Ron dropped by for a refreshment. He is on the road in sales and dropped by his seasonal trailer for a short visit with us before he carried on his way again.

Then about 5pm our friend Karen arrived with her motorhome to visit with us for a couple nights. We met her and her much younger children, camping at Rock Lake in Algonquin park many years ago and have kept in touch over the years. Karen quickly got setup before the rains started just in time for the supper I had prepared for tonight, meatloaf, creamy whipped potatoes, broccoli w/cheese sauce and a fresh baguette.
tasty supper
Now the meal is done we chatted, got caught up with each others lives, we have not seen each other for over a year. Suzie even got another dog fix today with Fiona just making herself at home.

  1. Too bad you won't be able to watch the carving process but at least you know you'll have something to look forward to next year.
