Monday, a new week and tying up loose ends.

Where are we today ?

We are still at "Camp Awesome" here in Plattsville. And have had a busy summer with family stuff, also enjoyed our time here with our hosts John, Lea and their son Jamie. Thanks so much guys!
Today Suzie ran some errands with her parents and I just hung out here and mowed some more acreage with the John Deere tractor (big red one still not working). I picked up Suzie in New Hamburg when she was done and we back home in time to enjoy our books and the dogs in the warm afternoon sun.
gonna miss "Camp Awesome" but will be back,
If they will have us.
Was supposed to be an over cast day but ended up being really nice so, for supper tonight we decided to BBQ a nice 2 pound eye of the round roast on our Weber Q. Marinated it for a couple, hours in olive oil, vinegar, steak spice, sea salt, pepper and garlic. Then two layers of foil and my small trivet on the preheated grill. Fat side up close the lid on high and let go for about 45 minutes. Turned down half way, add a couple tatters for another 45 minutes. Heated up the oven for some Yorkshire Pudding (I cheat and use the mix).

I took off the roast and taters (let them rest) and grilled our fresh asparagus for ten minutes or so..
medium well done 150 F, Guess I did it too long. Prefer rare,
but was still tasty and pretty tender.
Yorkshire Pudding , love it!
Was a very tasty supper,
More leftovers again, love it!
Another great day keeping us busy here, but did get to enjoy our books for a bit and sunshine too!
Our plan for tomorrow is to head to Rock Glen Resort for a maybe a couple weeks, (full hookups! We have had most of the summer with only 15 amp electric, no water and no sewer) This will surely be a treat for us.
Are we excited?  Ya think so.
Thanks for stopping in for a visit and hope you too enjoyed another great sunny fall day.

  1. I can go for maybe three weeks in Quartzsite without hookups but then I want to get into a park and take a long shower and not worry about running the generator or worrying about the tanks filling up.But when the price is right and it's close to family so you can help out, that's always a good thing.
