Amazing summer Sunday and a visit to the Pinery Fleamarket again.

Where are we today ?

Sunday morning and another amazing summer day here. Did get up to 89f (31C) with the humidex making it much warmer, But we have shade and a very light breeze so it was a very comfortable day outside. No A/c needed today.
After a few walkabouts and chatting with people we got a later start than we like. It was after 9:30 am before we hopped in the car and headed to Grand bend and the Pinery Flea market. One of our favourite markets too visit when we are in the area. nothing we need and nothing we bought there today either, just a fun Sunday outing.
On the drive there were passed through Thedford and by this house below, I have taken many pictures of it over the years. But just love it, reminds me of the Adams Family house from the show way back when.
wonder if the Adams family lives there?
Got to the market just before 10 am and getting busy already.
on the way in
Of course lots of the usual vendors with great produce and various different items here and there. But it is a nice outting on a wonderful summer day.
not too busy yet,
every one has a sale
only one busker we saw today and he was pretty good
We wandered about through the forrest and ran into some other people from Rock Glen as well. at least 2 other couples enjoying the day.
lotsa cool stuff here
chip wagon busy as usual
As we walked by the front traffic lined up both ways but a least the police are there directing traffic.
Only 10:45 and the food court getting very busy
Crowds are coming in as usual at this time, so time for us to make our exit and get outta here.
want a helicopter ride?
the ride would be nice but not in our budget I am sure
raffle for a 1967 Chenille SS 396 would be a fun car, tickets only 5 bucks
guess we could sell it, but did not buy a ticket anyway
A few other cars here to look at as well. while are here.
I had a 64 Chevy like this and loved it
After the market on our way home and stopped at Juicy Fruit Orchards for some very fresh picked white corn that we love. Picked up 1/2 a dozen that will do us for a few days.
choice, white or peaches and cream,
we love the white corn
Now home a for a tasty lunch, more walkabouts and enjoy our e-readers in the shade. I puttered around for a bit between chapters, and purged a couple of compartments, and tightened a few loose screws here and there. I guess you could say I have a few loose screws!
Then with this wonderful hot summer day Suzie wanted an ice cream, Ok we can do that down to the store in the park and we got a couple of small cones. Perfect for today.
While here we chatted with few couples for a while wanting to pick our brains about this full time lifestyle that they plan to do.  Gave them a few pointers and just said do it sooner than later if you can, Time sure flies when you are living this dream.
 these hand dipped cones.
sure hit the spot
Back home to kick back for a while, Walt stopped by with Maya and Suzie got a doggie fix.
she gets 3 small treats and has a wonderful routine
big dog
sit, I missed the 3rd one where she lies down
Back to reading for a while just cause we can.
Then Gerry dropped by with Tucker, no treat for him today , so he sat under Suzie's chair pouted.
what's this he said, no treats?
Soon time to whip up supper. Tonight a Turkey burger for Suzie and a chirozo burger for me, Plus a couple of white cobs of corn. Right on the grill. This corn is so tender and sweet only need to be heated a bit on the grill about he same time as the burgers, So tasty done this way
served on English muffins that we like , not too filling
what a very tasty supper we enjoyed.
After dishes done back outside again , because we can and the weather still very warm, perfect to finish posting this blog and read for a while. Probably head inside about 9 pm and call it a night after another perfect summer day. Tomorrow?who knows what we will do.
Thank y'all for stopping by for a look ,see  and hope you had a wonderful summer day as well.

Saturday fun at Rock Glen resort. And a few places we have been over the years.

Where are we today ?

Saturday and just another wonderful summer day here in southern Ontario. Overcast this morning, got a few nice walkabouts while the broth was simmering, to make a large pot of chicken noodle soup. (bones and chicken in the freezer). Both all done and we had a wonderful lunch of soup and a chicken sandwich for Suzie.
A comment yesterday day said we need to do more travelling north of the southern states and across Canada. We have and I made up a map of places that I have been and Suzie to most of them before full timing and blogging. We have seen a lot of North America over the years, I have been rv'ing even before Suzie for 50 years now, mostly with a tent and tent trailer then a van conversion. We hope that the two of us will see even more together. (Suzie has been to many places in Europe, again before she met me) when she worked in Travel. We still have more places to explore.
this is places that I have been
and Suzie to most of them
before and after our full-time lifestyle
Got this chicken noodle soup done for us to enjoy for lunch and few more bowls for the next couple of days.
nothing quite like homemade soup
After lunch relaxing in the shade, Tucker dropped by for a visit, dragging Melinda right along with him.
doggie fix for Suzie
Walked up the road to check out the shed that Walt had installed the other day, They have it set up perfectly. Drop down Tv so that they can enjoy it outside on their patio.
very nice setup
a pretty perfect summer afternoon
Then about 3 p m over to Gerry and Melinda's for happy hour. We chatted for an hour then home to fire up our Weber Q. Even though it was 80 f outside it was much cooler in the shade, and Suzie is almost always cold out side unless we are in the sun,
at their site this afternoon
Went home and noticed the kids were doing the graffiti  thing on this old trailer  that the campground sets up for them every year.  They do have a lot of fun doing harmless graffiti.
looks like Gerry is the man!
Got the Weber Q preheated and grilling a couple of Turkey drumsticks for supper on our grill mat. Enjoying our e-readers and watching the kids having fun in the playground across from us.
soon  the turkey legs are done to perfection
and we enjoyed them with our green salad
yup hit the spot tonight and more leftovers,
for another pot of soup
Then back outside for a while enjoying this wonderful weather we are having, read of a bit then wagon ride people had too much fun tonight 2 wagon loads.
Now at 8 pm we went down to check out the DJ at the clubhouse, he was inside (pretty good) but much too loud for our liking (too bad he was not outside) so headed back home to enjoy this wonderful summer evening at our campsite. We can hear the DJ from here.
Pretty decent summer day all around, not too hot and not too cold just enjoying the lifestyle that we live.
Glad that y'all dropped by and hope you had a wonderful day as well.

11 Years Full-time, and fun at Rock Glen resort today with friends.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it

This map below is the general areas we have travelled in our 11 years full-time n our coach and of course many places in between.
It was 11 years ago today August 18th 2006 that the sale of our house closed and we were officially living in our coach full time. A lot of people thought we were crazy, wanted to know how long for and where would we live afterwards?  I had just turned 57 and Suzie 49 and more people said we are too young to retire especially with no pensions. But we had been planning this for years and had a few bucks tucked away and have lived a pretty frugal lifestyle.  So on this day we were excited about to embark on our a new journey of adventure and exploring and see what we can see.
We purchased this house below in Plattsville in 1992 and renovated it over the years inside and out, until it was just the way we wanted it. But renting the house was not an option, we wanted to be free, so sold it we did, urged our possessions and not paying for storage, more capital to invest and live off the proceeds. I have had rental properties over the years and can be a headache.
this was our house in 1992
this same house we sold in 2006
our last day here
we are ready to hit the road
Purchased our coach in May 2006 , 7 years old then, (from Larry Vanstone at Sicard Rv) and at that point pretty well decided we needed to quit working, sell the house and hit the road. We began the process in June quitting work in July, purged the house contents and moved into our house on wheels.
We hung around Ontario until October visiting family etc and crossed the border mid October, we are only allowed 6 months in the USA and we wanted them to be in warmer weather than here.
Sept 16th we had a retirement party for us and celebrated Suzie's 50th birthday at the same time lotsa of family and friends were there to wish us well on our adventures.
What a celebration it was and great send off for our new lifestyle.
Our first night free camping on the beach 2006
Mustang Island Texas
sunset on the beach 2010
Stone Island,
Mexica Mexico
Sea of Cortez Mexico when we spent
 3 months in Mexico, 2009 and 10
We have seen so many places and met so many amazing people in our travels and made a lot of new friends.
I began blogging in 2006 just new to blogging and took me until 2010 to get to doing some regular  postings that I was happy with, but at least we have a record of most places we went to and a few hundred thousand digital photos to look back on.
where we park in Plattsville
I have lived in this village since 1982, ran my restaurant in town for 10 years, active member in the Plattsville Bright Optimist club for 18 years so I knew and still do know a lot of people in the area. Suzie's family is close by as is daughter number 2 with 3 grands and another on the way so is a very convenient place to park for a week or 2. Another daughter 90 minutes away with 3, and son an hour away with 1.
The way we like to live is constantly change scenery every week or 2, tried staying in some places for a month or more, but not what we want to do yet. Of all the places we have been we love the south west the most. Just something about the desert that keeps calling us back.
we love boondocking in the desert
this is in Quartzsite Arizona
We have been wanting to travel across Canada for a long time and looked like the fall of 2015 would be the year.  It did not work out, still plan to do this in the future.
So now entering into year 12 on the road, and still loving every day of this exciting life together. We have had a few issues, but nothing real major, regular maintenance and repairs on our coach (now 18 years old) and our car (15 years old).  Our coach had 35k miles on it in 2006 now 135k miles (we have travelled 100 k miles in 11 years) and still runs great. The 2002 saturn had 21k miles on it now 149k miles on the odometer plus towed another 100k miles so 298 k miles on the chassis.
Now we are looking forward to many more years of this lifestyle, and for as long as we can. The only thing that will slow us down will most likely be health issues and so far we doing awesome! But being fairly active keeps us young and feeling alive.
Living in our small house 24-7 has never been a problem for us, we do our own things, I love to cook so I do the shopping (Suzie hates shopping) I take lots of walks she loves to read we both do our computer stuff, me mostly pictures and blogging. And we do things together as well sightseeing and visiting, hey works perfect for us.
Looking forward to seeing new places and new faces, as well as running into people we have met over the years in our travels. And making new friends on the road.

TODAY

Today just puttering around this morning after a few walkabouts I helped Diane and Don set up their satellite dish again, a few issues were taken care of, and some help from a neighbour Greg.
Checked out Walt (our flooring guy) finishing up the assembly of a shed for a seasonal site here and even had Gerry working with him again,(that's amazing to see Gerry work , lol)
A quick trip to Forest for a few supplies and check out the farmer's market and back to Rock Glen to relax in the shade with Suzie and our e-readers. After Lunch and Suzie tried this Donut Peach  and she enjoyed it. Looks like s green donut, no fuzz, firm like and pear but tastes like a peach. Supposed to to even healthier than a peach too.
Donut Peach
all looks good
still have fresh local strawberries here too
Then a few friends dropped in for Happy Hour, Gerry, Melinda, Paul and Tucker, (Suzie got another doggies fix), nice to catchup and solve all the problems of the world again.
We being happy
one more treat for Tucker
Just after 6 pm headed over to Stephanie's, we were invited to partake in some Panzerottis for a wonderful feast, each one made to order with our own fillings.
Kim making to dough
Stephanie putting them together
this is mine, before frying
sealing it up like a pro
Mike doing the frying, 2 deep fryers

Wow what an amazing feast we had, and so much fun, Thanks to Stephanie, Kim and Mike for your hospitality, was a feast we will not forget.
Thanks to y'all for following us on our travels, (over 2,800 postings so far) some of you have followed us for the last 11 years, it has been a journey and we both hope for many more wonderful years of travel, living this lifestyle.
