Enjoying our time here and the weather amazing!

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
What a wonderful warm night, windows open, fantastic fan on, blowing out so we got a nice breeze coming in through the bedroom windows, no comforter needed.
As usual up early enjoying this warm weather but no exciting sunrise here like in the desert, So quick trip to Parker for some groceries and home by 8:30.
sunrise across the Colorado River
looking north down he beach
south by the cove
Just puttered around , chatted with our neighbours from Alliston Ontario and enjoyed a light tasty lunch.
Right after lunch I did a short drive down the road about a mile and checked out the BLM area there on the river. Very nice sites, on the river  dry camping and only $5.00 a night. The sites are no bigger than what we had here for 10 bucks a night with our membership. Always nice to check out alternatives though when we are in the area.
this where we are
Now another walkabout just checking out more of this huge campground. Lots of neat things to see. it is a very well maintained large campground.
Then a very interesting mini golf course, looks like fun.
Gotta check out the clubhouse as well always lots going on here, bingos, meals, card rooms, pool hall, whatever you need.
oh yeah puzzles for Patsy on the go too
even the Country star is well stocked
friendly staff as well
Now we are enjoying another wonderful warm afternoon in the shade of the palm trees getting in to our page turners. Not bad at all only 88f with a slight breeze and the shade very comfortable.
a very nice view of the river
Volleyball in one pool
this pool nice for relaxing and playing tabletennis
But a problem we have here with being close to the Tiki Bar is we can smell the food cooking all afternoon, Darn we got a craving. Do we go for a pitcher of beer for4 bucks or stay here? So for our Happy Hour here (we have beer) I wandered over for a snack. Breaded cauliflower, sounds almost health except they are breaded and deep fried. but heck was a very tasty snack,
breaded cauliflower
That craving was taken care of and a bit later time to begin supper. Tonight a very real treat. I  came across some awesome looking fillet mignon steaks at Safeway this morning 1/2 price so that is on the menu with a baked potato, mushrooms and onions plus some fresh asparagus also on sale only $1.99.
almost ready, extra potato for later .
homefried potatoes at some point
what a feast, steaks done about medium
I like mine rare but still amazingly fork tender
By the time we finished supper we missed the sunset, No way I was leaving my meal looking for one, We have lots of sunset pictures anyway .
Just another great day here enjoying the full hookup facilities, Might get to the pool yet when not so busy looks like the mornings are best for me to go, we will see. Finishing up this posting still outside at 8 pm and still a comfortable 64F soon time to head inside though for the night.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by, we will see what we can come up with in the next few days. Maybe something, maybe not , tomorrow is another day.

  1. You have a great campground right on the river! Fran has a SUP and would drool over those calm waters. Me ... I'd drool over an Al's pizza :)

  6. My goodness, you had my mouth watering with that picture of your dinner. Looking at that nice campground by the river, happy hour by the pool and reading books in the shade while we had new snowfalls one after another and more to come. Wish we were there, too!

  8. thank you for indicating the park name. We've certainly heard of Emerald Cove from Lake Havasu campers talking about it but now we have first hand knowledge. :)

  10. The fillet mignon looked great. I have stayed on that strip closer to the Parker Dam, with a lot of wild burrows. Any in your campground.

  11. Looks you might be on the same site we had last year! Great spot, view of the river and close to the pools and Tiki Hut. There is some free BLM land further down from Emerald Cove. Lots of free boondocking down that way too.

  12. Well, if you have to give up the wide open spaces of the desert and "suffer" through full hook-ups that looks like a pretty nice place to do so. What a beautiful place on the Colorado River not to mention almost next door to a TiKi Bar. Enjoy! I am pretty sure deep fried cauliflower is mostly healthy...lol
