Just moving slowly on down the road first stop Yuma for 3 nights, more fun in the sun and an oppsy

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Our last morning here at Emerald Lake resort and not a bad morning at all, We will miss the river, the facilities  and the burros, and great weather but we do like to keep moving on down the road. After a nice sunrise and a few walkabouts we secured our coach and headed on down the road only 118 miles so not in a  big hurry.
gonna miss this but we will be back
Coach all secured and car hooked up (first time in a month!) and outta  here by 9 am. heading south on 95 to Yuma, a very familiar road we have travelled many times over the years.
into Quartzsite nice and quiet now
corner of Keuhn and 95 no traffic, nice.
Making our way south past the Yuma proving grounds and the military guns I have so many pictures of. Always love this road we heading south.
Yuma proving grounds
Then a bit later past the orchards and green fields here in the agricultural belt, always nice to see.
We made your  way to the Foothills and stopped at the FlyingJ to top up our fuel then east on frontage road. Opps, a detour and a scenic one right through a beautiful subdivision  with some amazing homes.
following the signs
Gawking around I missed the tiny sign on a small side street to turn and ended up on a dead end street. No problem we had a nice tour but had to disconnect our car to make a 5 point U turn and get back on track, Not the first time we have done this and I am sure will not be the last time. No problem though we are not far from our destination so Suzie just drove right along behind me in  the car.
Destination today is Sundance Resort for 3  nights FREE camping with full hookups. We got  a coupon at the Rv show tent in Quartzsite and will take advantage of it. Why not? free is free and we back in the Yuma area for 3 nights with full hookups.
this be this place
Not a bad campground at all, smaller sites and a smaller campground, more our style for a campground, We like it much more that the Fortuna D'oro next store that we stayed at last year.
a nice site with our very own Palm tree
All set up by noon and enjoyed a nice light tasty lunch. As soon as we plugged in I turned our Antique slow cooker on High and set in the rump roast I picked up yesterday on sale for 6 bucks with some spices etc.
Then I whipped around the corner to Fry's for a few supplies and fuel the car. Home shortly and relaxed outside in the shade enjoying the rest of the day. Only problem with this particular site is close to the interstate with some road noise outside. but we cannot hear it inside.
I did some walkabouts here for a bit and check a few things out. They have a huge Ballroom here and actually a concert tonight that is sold out 400 seats. Would have been a nice show but not for $18,00 a person , not in our budget right now.
all set up for the show,
we may hear it from here
 very nice facilities here
I found out they have Happy Hour every day this week by the pool with entertainment from 3 till 5 , so I just wandered on down to check it out.
nice large pool
the band is on break
lots of people here hanging out,
maybe another day
nice we can get water right here  $1.00 for 5 gallons
Back home  enjoying our e-readers outside was soon time for me to whip up the rest of our dinner to go with our Roast beef in the slow cooker, Really smelling awesome inside.  With a roast beef we need to have Yorkshire Pudding and I still have a package here to make a 1/2 dozen more for tonight.
this mix is so easy and quick
my crock pot, the plastic lid is cracked so I put foil over it
still working after 25 years,
10 years in my restaurant every day!
Yorkshire pudding done
gravy ready
Even some fresh asparagus I picked today only $1.77 a lb
that was a great roast beef dinner and of course lots of left overs.
we can always use leftovers
our trip today only 118 miles
That was our fun short travel day, always like to explore new campgrounds , especially when they are free , plus we have a few things we want to do while but here in Yuma.
Wanna thank y'all for dropping on by and hope your day was as wonderful as ours.

  7. Glad you found the free campground. Hope you accomplish all you want to do while there. Looks like a nice place to stay for a couple of days.

Making a five point turn sounds good to me. Did the trick and off you go.

  8. Love the beautiful sunrise on the water! Nice that you're there for free, gotta admit I don't think i'd want to pay for such a small spot, but free is good! Dinner sure looked good! Love the slow cooker meat, just set it and forget it! Enjoy your stay!

    1. It was a very nice campground. Free is good and small but that is all we need with full hookups and free wifi as well.
The slow cooker works well for a nice tasty tender meal.

  9. Nice that you've moved on to Yuma area again. Sundance RV Resort is nice but we won't use our 2nd coupon to go there next year. Free or not, when I walked around I saw that it would definitely be too tight for us. We'd go back to Fortuna even at $40/night the sites are huge and they have everything we like and more.
Enjoy your stay! Free is always best! PS - splurge and get yourself a new crock pot! ha ha

    1. It is nice to be back here and we like free. The sites are smaller, now we have been to both of these parks. Don't need to come back unless its free again which I doubt.
No need for a new crock pot this still works and usually only use it a couple of times a year.

  10. We really like the Emerald Lake RV park. The location is perfect and there's so much to do. However, this year we've been in a little of rut and allowing the grass to grow under our wheels. Not so good.
